Our snow fort has a new window. Noah and Katie inspect the window created by melting. There's a window in our snow fort. Look, Noah our snow fort melted a window. Katie and Noah by our snow fort. Noah plays with the leaves in our yard. Noah plays with the leaves in our yard. These are very interesting leaves. Noah plays with some leaves in our yard. We went to East Gallatin Recreation Area. We watched some ice skaters and played in the sand. Noah likes to play on the beach, even in the winter. Noah and Katie on the frozen trail. David and Noah broke some snow off the path to throw into the water. David sets up some ice for Noah to knock into the river. Noah knocked the ice into the river. David and Noah like to throw ice. Drop it Noah ... SPLASH! This is lots of fun! Push the snow into the water.  There it goes. Noah probably should have had gloves on today. We're on the bridge at the East Gallatin Recreation Area. There's our ice way down there. There's our ice way down there. Watch it float away. David sets up another round of ice bombs. Noah waits in eager anticipation of the next round of ice bombs. Up, up, up. Push, push, push. Ready, set, .... go! David and Noah throw ice into the river. There's some of the ice that landed on the ice. There's some of the ice that landed on the ice. OK, Noah let's put some more ice into the water. There's the lovely river we have been assaulting. Look here's a really big one. There's the lovely river again. David and Noah admire the great river. Let's get on with the hiking. Or, maybe I'll just sit down on the snow. Noah found some good sticks right away. David and Noah go for a nice winter hike. Dad needed a stick too. Noah and David both take their sticks for a hike. Noah and David on their winter hike in the woods. Noah plays with the other sticks. David wrote NOAH in the snow. Noah wrote NOAH in the snow. Noah likes to write in the snow (with a stick) It's Noah and his collection of sticks. Noah writes letters in the snow. Noah goes for a hike with his sticks. David had to climb onto his favorite log high in the air. Compare thes log pictures with those on October 23, 2005 We also visited the beaver dam again. The pictures don't do it justice. The water has gone down quite a bit. Here's another angle of the beaver dam. It's a very frozen, but thawing beaver dam. You can see the sheets of ice have fallen down. There's sheets of ice on the trees and the banks. See how much the water has gone down since the water started flowing again. Noah and Katie back on the trail to go home. We stopped to play with the bench and the sticks. Is my tummy big enough yet? One month to go! Noah moves leaves with his sticks. It's a lovely frozen river. It's a lovely frozen river. OK, Noah, this way.  Time to go. I like to write in the snow. Noah admires his great stick. Noah takes his two sticks down the trail at East Gallatin Recreation Area It is fun to dig in the snow with a stick. Noah holds up two sticks. Noah is happy to have two sticks to play with, but he is starting to feel a little cold. Maybe we could go faster if daddy picked Noah up and tucked in those cold fingers.
